By the Han Dynasty, HanFu became popular all over the country. And in the Ming Dynasty, it reached its peak. The weaving, dyeing, cutting, and sewing techniques were incredibly advanced. The clothes were more beautiful and complex than ever.
Interruption and Remnants
But when the Ming Dynasty ended, the development of HanFu stopped for a while. However, HanFu didn’t completely disappear. You can still see it in traditional operas, the clothes of Buddhists and Taoists, and in ancient books and paintings. These remnants kept the HanFu culture alive, waiting for a chance to shine again.
Revival Process
In the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, there were small – scale HanFu revival movements, but they didn’t last. Then, at the beginning of the 21st century, as people’s living standards got better, a “HanFu craze” started. Thanks to the media, more and more people got to know and love HanFu. There were more and more HanFu – related business activities, clubs were set up, and social events were held. HanFu was coming back into people’s lives.
